You keep USD 16.74 (83.7%). 1 ### You sell a work for USD 20 A reader buys your ebook, album, photo set, video, or any digital work. 2 ### We charge 15% + USD 0.30 Platform fee: USD 2.96 + transaction fee: USD 0.30 = USD 3.26 total. 3 ### You keep USD 16.74 83.7% of each sale goes straight to you. Balances are consolidated and paid out monthly. Printed books ## Selling a paperback works differently A printed book has to be manufactured, and we buy the printing. So our 15% + USD 0.30 is charged on the margin — what the book sells for minus what the printer charges — and never on the cover price. ### The fee is on the margin Take the manufacturing cost off the cover price first. 15% + USD 0.30 comes off what is left, and the rest is yours. On a printed book that is a smaller amount of money than the same fee on a digital sale — and so is your share, because the printing has to be paid for. ### Nothing to pay up front No stock, no minimum order, no setup fee. Each copy is manufactured when someone buys it, and we pay the printer, not you. ### You are paid on shipment Not on payment. An order can be cancelled or rejected before it reaches the press, and a copy that is never made earns nobody anything. When the parcel ships, your share lands in your balance. Shipping is charged to the buyer separately and is passed through to the carrier — it is never part of the margin and never part of anyone’s earnings. What a copy costs to make depends on its size and page count; you see the exact number before you set a price.
