To a lost girl, it is a guide. To a hungry farmer, its fruit brings renewed energy. To a tired surveyor, its leaves offer refreshment; to others, its branches, shade, and stalks meet needs they cannot meet alone. As the tree delights in helping those around it, it begins to wonder: is its value only in what it gives? Through encounters with people, animals, the sun, soil, rain, and cloud, the tree learns that growth depends on connection — and that purpose is more than usefulness. This African folklore tale invites readers to reflect on identity, integrity, gratitude, and the roots that make us strong. First of the seven-story series Golden Threads of Inspiration, it includes an accompanying soundtrack accessible by QR code.
