Every journey has a destination. The more important question is who you become along the way. Brothers Sefu and Jabari set out on the road to Ọjà, a bustling African marketplace alive with colour, movement, and possibility. What begins as a journey from home soon becomes something far more important: a series of encounters that asks each brother to decide what he believes, whom he should follow, and what kind of person he wants to become. Along the road, seemingly ordinary choices begin to carry unexpected weight. Independence can feel like freedom, another person's opinion can quietly become your own, and even a small decision can reveal something about your character. As Sefu and Jabari experience the same journey through different eyes, they begin to discover that wisdom is not simply knowing what is right, but learning to think carefully enough to choose it for yourself. Rooted in the spirit of African folklore, Journey to Ọjà combines adventure, humour, reflection, and richly illustrated storytelling to explore decision-making, integrity, accountability, gratitude, and the consequences of our choices. Written for young readers aged eight and above, but layered for families to enjoy together, it invites conversations about one of childhood's most important transitions: the gradual movement from being told what to do towards learning how to decide who you will be.
