 ## About this work

Aidan is the boy his school runs on: the one who carries the mugs, checks the film titles, hosts the showcase, and learns every name by heart. He is also the keeper of a finsta — a private account with nine photographs and one follower: Eli, the boy behind the camera, who photographed Aidan better than Aidan knew how to be photographed. Then one of those photographs stops matching the picture it came from. An empty chair becomes a girl with her hands over her face, and no one can say how — least of all Aidan. Over one winter, the small adjustments of senior year surface: a performance that went missing, credit that ended up in the wrong place, a night on the backstage stairs that refuses to stay in anyone's report. Dryly funny, tender, and quietly devastating, Nico Varrin's Finsta is a novel about the distance between the self we curate and the self we confess — and what it takes to close it, in precise verbs, one correction at a time.
